| So, just after the contractor left the house, the rain poured.
Had a goon night sleep, and woke up with my bedroom like a swimming pool.
Apparently, the water had sipped in from the aircon trunking to the compressor, which is just outside my room.
For the past 2!3 years, there had not been any problems, and the trunking was made on the top of the aircon window (build by HDB) to prevent things like these from happening.
But never did we realised that due to the design of HDB, when it rains heavily, the rain will actually run along the wall, and come right into the house through the trunking!
What kind of a stupid design is that?
It happens to my kitchen as well! Instead of having a straight wall for the roof to block the rain from splashing in, they build one which is more "aesthetically pleasant".
Well, it stopped the rain from splashing in alright, but the rain from the roof (I stay on the top floor) when dripping down follows the wall and comes right into the house!
So, that's another $580 to remove the built-in cabinet, and fix it back again.
And another $200+ to service the aircon and make sure that the leak is not from the aircon trunking, and seal the hole back with silicon.
