Old man and wife
Things like these can ONLY happen in Singapore.

A man who suffered polio was fined $400 for refusing to pay his summon for parking in a parking lot specifically for the disabled.

Judgement from the Judge:
"
even if Edwin could prove that medically, he should be categorised as a handicapped person.

The point was Edwin did not get permission from the URA car park superintendent to use the parking lot for the disabled."
:

Edwin Eio (victim):
"Three years back I decided to apply because my bones are getting old. I applied to NCSS (National Council of Social Service) and all I got was a reply that said you are not applicable, you are not wheelchair bound."

"I called NCSS and asked why is it I was rejected without even an interview? Where do people like us who are the in-between people, they say you are not in wheelchair, so you are not handicapped enough. Where do we go from here?"

So in Singapore,

1. a physically challenged person MUST have a permit/certificate to prove that he is handicapped, else, he is not;
2. if you are not in a wheelchair, you are not physically challenged

This is indeed uniquely Singapore!
